Students gathered in various cities of Iran to protest in-person exams

A number of Iranian students in various cities, including Yazd, Tehran, Qazvin, and Zanjan, held protest rallies in front of education buildings in their cities of residence, demanding that their demands be addressed.
According to videos published on social media, after a year of virtual education, students have been protesting against holding their final exams in person despite the outbreak and spread of the coronavirus, chanting slogans such as "We don't want an in-person exam, we don't want one" and "There can't be an in-person exam with the coronavirus" in recent days.
The demands of these protesting students include the cancellation of in-person exams and holding final exams virtually.
According to published videos, students in the cities of Zanjan and Bojnourd gathered on Wednesday, May 5, chanting slogans such as "We don't want in-person exams, we don't want them."
Semnan students also called for the cancellation of in-person exams during the spread of the coronavirus in Iran.
Yesterday, students in Yazd and Shahrekord gathered to cancel in-person exams.
According to statistics from the Iranian Ministry of Health, from May 13 to 14, 20,150 new patients with the coronavirus were identified and 344 patients lost their lives, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 73,219.
Many are skeptical about the accuracy of official statistics, and even the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly announced that the actual number of infections and deaths is many times higher than the official figures.
