Saudi Arabia: Iranian boats are violating our territorial waters

Saudi Arabia has complained to the United Nations about what it calls Iranian boats violating its territorial waters.
A United Arab Emirates news agency reported, citing Saudi officials, that Iranian boats are continuously encroaching on the maritime space and water borders around Saudi oil fields in the Persian Gulf, which the two countries agreed on in October.
The Saudi ambassador to the United Nations says Iran will be responsible for any possible consequences resulting from such actions.
Last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani threatened that Tehran would disrupt the passage of oil shipments from neighboring countries through the Strait of Hormuz if other countries refrain from buying Iranian oil under US pressure.
Analysts, however, say that it is unlikely that Iran would take such action and that these threats are mostly for domestic use.
