Amnesty International calls for the annulment of Ramin Hossein Panahi's death sentence and his fair trial

Amnesty International called for the immediate cancellation of the death sentence of Kurdish political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi and for his fair trial in accordance with international law.
This human rights organization, in a statement, referred to statements by Ramin Hossein Panahi's lawyers and announced that the prisoner was transferred from Sanandaj Prison to Rajai Shahr, Karaj, to carry out his death sentence, and that his contact with his family had been cut off.
Amnesty International has quoted Ramin Hossein Panahi's family as saying that the prisoner has sewn his lips shut and is on a hunger strike to protest his death sentence and denial of access to medical services despite suffering from kidney problems.
This international organization, while calling for the cancellation of Ramin Hossein Panahi's death sentence, wrote: "Ramin Hossein Panahi must be released unless the judicial authorities can charge him with a crime that is common to international law, based on sufficient and reasonable evidence and without relying on confessions obtained under torture and other ill-treatment, and provide the basis for his fair trial, without resorting to the death penalty."
This Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death was transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj on Monday night, August 12, without prior notice to his lawyer or family. Some news websites wrote that Mr. Hossein Panahi is being held in one of the sections for dangerous criminals in Rajai Shahr Prison.
Ramin Hossein Panahi, who was arrested in July last year on charges of being a member of the Kurdistan Komala Party, has been severely tortured during this time, according to reports from human rights organizations.
His lawyer and family say he does not deserve to be executed, but the Islamic Republic often punishes membership in opposition groups, such as the Komala Party, with the death penalty.
Not long ago, more than two thousand political, social, and civil activists signed a letter calling for the immediate halt and cancellation of Ramin Hossein Panahi's death sentence.
Amnesty International had previously emphasized that Mr. Hossein Panahi was sentenced to death in an unfair trial.
