Another tragic incident in the Mediterranean Sea. At least 23 migrants have died after their boat capsized off the coast of Tunisia as they tried to reach Italy.

Another boat is said to have sunk near the coast of Sfax in Tunisia, but 39 refugees on board have been rescued by rescuers.
This is not the first time that boats carrying refugees have capsized off the coast of Sfax. In April, 21 other migrants died in the waters of the area while trying to reach Europe. In March of this year, 39 migrants died in a similar incident.
The International Organization for Migration announced that in 2019 alone, more than 1,200 refugees lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea on their way to Europe.
During this period, 12,000 people tried to reach Europe from Tunisia and Libya due to the dire economic situation and lack of social rights.
