Faezeh Hashemi: Ebrahim Raisi is useless and some people are managing him behind the scenes

Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, a former member of parliament and the daughter of the former president of Iran, says that Ebrahim Raisi is "nothing to do" and that some people behind the scenes "manage him and influence his decision-making."

In an interview with the Iran Watch website published on Monday, January 10, Ms. Hashemi said that Ebrahim Raisi "is being managed. In fact, he himself is not in charge, there are some people behind the scenes who manage the president and influence his decision-making."

He added that "it's the same in the government; the governorates and governorships that everyone currently has are being militarized."

Ebrahim Raisi was declared the winner of the June presidential election this year, which faced widespread opposition boycott, after receiving 18 million votes, equivalent to 30 percent of eligible voters.

According to the Iranian Ministry of Interior, the turnout rate in these elections was 48.8 percent, which is considered the lowest turnout rate in the history of elections in the Islamic Republic.

Mr. Raisi came to this position without any executive experience and claimed in his election campaign that he had a "seven thousand" page plan to improve the country's situation; however, he has not yet presented any plan acceptable to economic experts.

Faezeh Hashemi said in another part of her speech: The analysis that Ebrahim Raisi is the choice to lead the Islamic Republic was a "melon peel" that was thrown "under his feet": "Those around the president know that the country's problems are constantly increasing. Usually, all the pots and pans break on the president's head. When all this is ruined, whether from the people's or the officials' point of view, no one will make him the leader anymore. In my opinion, this is a melon peel that should be removed from here and perhaps certain people will become leaders in the future."

According to him, "We are now more sinful than Israel, America, the Pahlavi regime, and wherever we call it."

He stated, "The calamities we bring upon our own people have not been brought upon by any of them."

Ms. Hashemi also said: "Consider the death toll in Syria, which is 500,000 people, and in any case, "we played a role in this," or Yemen, which has been in a civil war for seven years, where "we played a role in this again and we have launched a Muslim genocide."

The former member of parliament went on to say: "If we count the Palestinian deaths at the hands of the Israelis, it seems unlikely that it will reach one hundred thousand or two hundred thousand people; that is, "we have committed more Muslim genocide than Israel."

Iran, along with Russia, provided all kinds of military and financial support to the Bashar al-Assad regime against its opponents in the Syrian civil war, a war that left more than half a million dead and millions displaced.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is also providing military support to the Shiite Houthis, who control the capital and parts of the country, in the Yemeni civil war.

"The informant is responsible for confiscating people's property"

Continuing her interview, Faezeh Hashemi referred to the appointment of Mohammad Mokhbar as First Vice President of Iran and said that he, who has been entrusted with the command of economic affairs, has all his experience in the Executive Headquarters, which is responsible for confiscating people's property. That is, "How can someone who seeks to confiscate people's property understand and strengthen privatization?"

He said that if the government wants to succeed, it "must control the informant."

According to Ms. Hashemi, "We heard a sentence from these same officials that one must endure hardship. Yes, we agree. One must endure hardship. But on the condition that we know what we are going to achieve? That is, are we going to achieve freedom? Are we going to achieve a proper economy? Are we going to achieve justice? Are we going to achieve development? What are we going to achieve?"

Calling the policies of the Islamic Republic regime "unreasonable" and "Taliban", he said: "If we had proper management, we wouldn't have resorted to sanctions. Our enemy is ourselves."
