Israeli Foreign Ministry: Thousands of Iranians have requested asylum and assistance from Israel

The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, citing the Israeli Foreign Ministry, says that thousands of Iranians have requested asylum and assistance from Israel.
According to this report, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday, May 12, that with the spread of the coronavirus, the number of Iranians who have asked Israel for help has increased.
The report quoted Yefta Kuriel, head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's digital diplomacy department, as saying: "Thousands of people have requested to enter Israel for medical assistance or immigration."
He adds: “Many Iranians in Iran and abroad support Israel, oppose the [Islamic Republic] regime, and want to see a different future [in relations] between the two countries.”
