According to Hrana news agency, citing Iran newspaper, a 15-year-old girl in Tehran attempted suicide by taking pills twice.
In recent days, an adolescent girl contacted Tehran’s emergency services and asked for help to save her friend’s life. She said: “My friend Shagayegh came to our house an hour ago and went to the bedroom under the pretext of resting. After a few minutes, I went to check on her, but she had collapsed unconscious on the floor. I called her several times when suddenly my eye fell on several pill papers that had fallen on the ground”.
Following the teenage girl’s call, emergency responders arrived at the scene and took her to the hospital. To investigate the cause of the incident, given the suspicious nature of the matter, the case was immediately reported to prosecutor Mohammad Vahabi. An hour later, with the efforts of the medical team, the teenage girl was saved from death.
During further investigations, it was revealed that Shagayegh had attempted suicide once before. In her interrogation, she said: “My parents separated, and I went to live with my mother. Their separation hurt me very much and I fell into severe depression. I felt so bad that I decided to end my life. That’s why two weeks ago, I decided to commit suicide by obtaining pills. But my mother took me to the hospital. Even though I had come back from death, I couldn’t cope with this situation, and that’s why I decided to end my life again. Under the pretext of visiting my friend, I went to her house and at an appropriate opportunity, I took a large amount of pills so that this time my life would end”.
She continued: “Because of this, I took a large amount of pills so that this time my life would end completely”.
Ultimately, considering the young girl’s psychological state and severe psychological trauma, at the order of the criminal prosecutor, she was admitted to a mental health center and placed under treatment.
