5,000 Nurses Dismissed After Coronavirus Crisis

The head of the Nursing Organization announced the dismissal of 5,000 nurses following the subsiding of the coronavirus crisis in the country.
According to HRANA news agency citing Ravayat24, the head of the Nursing Organization announced the dismissal of 5,000 nurses following the subsiding of the coronavirus crisis in the country.
Mohammad Mirzabaigi, while announcing this figure, stated: During the coronavirus period, officials hired a large number of nurses through contract extensions, temporary contracts, and company employment, but with the subsiding of coronavirus, they proceeded to lay off the hired forces.
Despite the reduction of these forces, Mirzabaigi stated that medical centers and hospitals in the country need approximately 100,000 nursing personnel; he described this significant nursing shortage as “a major harm to the people and society.”
Also, the head of the Nursing Organization regarding the rate of nurse emigration from the country stated: Based on the certificates issued monthly, approximately 100 to 150 nurses emigrate.
He also said that “employment conditions must be made easier, so that nursing forces do not feel the desire to emigrate from the country.”
