American Republican Senator Declares End of Khamenei’s Rule in Support of Iran’s Popular Uprising

Ted Cruz, senator from Texas, emphasized the “weakness of the Iranian regime” and the intensification of widespread popular protests, declaring the end of Ali Khamenei’s government.

Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, while referring to widespread popular protests in recent days, posted a controversial message on the social media platform X, making statements about Iran’s internal situation and the popular uprising that have had widespread repercussions in international political circles.

Cruz explicitly wrote: “Losing wars has consequences. Israel’s 12-day campaign against the Iranian government and Donald Trump’s historic decision to destroy its nuclear program have exposed the weakness of this regime to the people of Iran and the world.” The American senator added: “The people of Iran are rising up and the days of the Ayatollah are numbered.”

Cruz’s remarks came as a wave of nationwide protests continued across Iran. These protests, which began with economic crises and the collapse of the national currency’s value, quickly transformed into a broad anti-government movement and have been reported in multiple cities including Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Karaj, while security forces attempt to suppress protesters with tear gas and pepper spray.

Cruz made these statements while simultaneously reposting a report from an active user account in the open-source data field, demonstrating that protests in Iran are not only widespread but also increasing. In this repost, a significant number of cities were referred to as “protest centers” and even referenced security forces’ use of high-pressure water cannons against protesters in Hamadan, which independent analysts have also confirmed.

Alongside Cruz’s remarks, U.S. President Donald Trump also issued a sharp warning in response to Iran’s situation, saying: “If the Iranian government shoots peaceful protesters and violently kills them, the United States of America will come to their aid.”

Donald Trump also emphasized: “We are in full readiness and prepared to act.” Trump’s post on his personal social media account clarifies the U.S. government’s position in support of the Iranian people.

This type of statement from American officials is occurring in circumstances where protests in Iran are considered the largest wave since 2022, and international reports indicate several deaths and intense clashes between protesters and security forces; media outlets have reported the continuation of protests in numerous cities with anti-government slogans and widespread calls for regime change.

Domestic reactions in Iran to foreign positions have also been sharp; Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman warned that foreign interference violates international law and Tehran will firmly confront any outside intervention.

These developments show that Cruz’s remarks not only reflect the support of certain American politicians for Iran’s popular protests but are also part of an intensifying international tension; tensions that have been fueled by Trump’s statements and harsh reactions from Iranian officials regarding “crossing red lines.”

These remarks can be analyzed within the broader context of support for human rights, freedom of expression, and solidarity with people who have risen up for justice and human dignity; issues that have been highlighted not only in American policy but also in the global perspective on Iran’s situation.
