An Informed Source Reveals the Secret Behind Plasco

Sohila .Sh. FCN News Agency: Men from our land are still under the rubble. Those who risk their lives and burn so that others may be safe, and unfortunately it is still not possible to reach them. An informed source in an interview with FCN News Agency has claimed that the guilt of the sacrifice of these people lies on the neck of Ali Khamenei and Qalibaff, the mayor of Tehran.
The fire and collapse of the Plasco building since yesterday morning Thursday has plunged Iran into shock. All fellow citizens are waiting to see if perhaps a glimmer of hope emerges from the debris of this old building. A building that, with more than 55 years of age and without standard equipment, served as a place of livelihood in the busiest central part of the capital.
The leader of the Islamic Republic in a message emphasized that all facilities should be equipped for debris removal and rescue of more than 30 firefighters from under the rubble. A point that has been surprising in Ali Khamenei’s message is that he emphasized that investigating the causes of the incident should be postponed to a later time.
Whereas in any incident, an effort is made from the initial moments to have a team responsible for investigating the cause in order to prevent the repetition of subsequent unfortunate events.
Of course, domestic news agencies and people on Iran’s social networks, regardless of this emphasis, are busy investigating the cause of the incident.
Some rumors suggest that this 17-story tower was sacrificed for the Supreme Leader’s compound and was intentionally set on fire. It is even said that in order to increase the security of the Supreme Leader’s compound, all tall and old buildings in the vicinity are destined for such a fate.
Of course, the fact that Plasco lacked the necessary standards for operation has been confirmed by all news agencies and users. But nothing has been said about why this negligence occurred. For example, it has been said that Plasco, due to its age and lack of standards, had no access to city gas, and the owners used diesel oil for heating, which in this fire caused the diesel fuel warehouses to catch fire and, alongside the clothing warehouses, sealed the fate of the building’s collapse.
Profiteering of the Foundation of the Dispossessed in Plasco Transactions
An informed source in Tehran’s municipality in an interview with FCN News disclosed why Plasco was neglected in standardization.
This fellow citizen, who did not want his name and position in the municipality to be revealed, says: “The Plasco building is among the old and confiscated buildings after the revolution whose owners fled or were executed. All these buildings fell into the hands of the Foundation of the Dispossessed for free after confiscation. A foundation that according to law is only accountable to the Supreme Leader and even the parliament does not have the right to investigate and inspect its operations. Whereas it has been accused several times, especially during the presidency of Mohsen Rafighdoost, of financial corruption and even managed to obtain permission to conduct independent oil transactions.
In this way, it is clear where the history of selling independent units in a building like Plasco leads. These units, like all confiscated properties, were sold to individuals with paper documents and illegally. Over the past few decades, numerous paper and promissory transactions have occurred. But for years, Tehran’s municipality has set its sights on these properties and under the pretext of unauthorized use has questioned their private and commercial ownership. To the extent that it has been announced that current owners for commercial exploitation of similar units and buildings must pay exorbitant costs for changing land use from residential to commercial.
Whereas the Foundation of the Dispossessed initially sold these units to the people in illegal transactions as commercial centers. But the owners have no documents to prove this right.
In this way, owners who do not see their property situation stabilized have no incentive to improve it. Of course, you are aware that renovation or major repairs in such buildings require permission from the municipality. According to Qalibaff’s order, no such permit has been issued for Plasco for years. With the same justification I mentioned.
In this way, the municipality repeatedly warned the owners about the unsafe nature of Plasco and said it was willing to purchase the building but at a residential price, not a commercial one.
The situation was such that even the gas authority did not connect a line to Plasco, and this building turned into a diesel oil warehouse, the ignition of which in the lower floors led to the melting of the metal skeleton and ultimately the collapse of the building.
In this way, do not doubt that a precise root cause investigation of this incident will not take place because ultimately it leads to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.”
This fellow citizen, referring to a prosecutor’s permit for the demolition of buildings adjacent to Plasco, continues: “Now, to access the sacrificed firefighters and the possibility of debris removal, neighboring buildings are to be demolished, and this is another step for the municipality and the remnants of the foundation to achieve their goals.”
According to this informed source, for those who have reached enormous wealth through this path, the fate of building owners like Plasco is of no importance.
He refers to rumors suggesting that the fire in Plasco was intentional and says: “Working hours in this building started at 8:30 and 9 in the morning, and the perpetrators did not expect Plasco to collapse on firefighters and cause casualties. Because they were unaware of the diesel oil warehouse. So much so that they started the fire from the upper floors thinking it would be quickly contained. Because their goal was only to make the building unsafe and force the owners to evacuate and hand it over to the municipality.”
This informed source stated bitter truths in an interview with FCN News. Without taking a particular stance on his statements, this concern cannot be ignored that if these statements are true, several buildings and fellow citizens are to be sacrificed for the survival of institutions in the Islamic Republic that, indifferent to human rights, hoard wealth.
Habibollah Elghanian was the builder and owner of the Plasco and Aluminum buildings in Tehran. Of course, the Aluminum building also caught fire some time ago, but firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.
Elghanian, who was considered one of Iran’s major merchants and industrial owners, also served as the head of the Iranian Jewish community. He was arrested a few days after the revolution and was executed a few months later by order of Sadegh Khalkhali, the Islamic revolutionary court judge.
