Collapse of Four-Story Building in Kermanshah Claims at Least Two Lives

Iran’s Emergency Organization reported the collapse of a four-story building in Nosud, Kermanshah, on the morning of Thursday, June 9, resulting in the death of at least two people in the incident.
According to ILNA news agency, citing a spokesman for the country’s Emergency Organization, as a result of this incident which “is believed to have been caused by a collapse due to gas leak explosion,” by 11 a.m., the death toll stood at two people, and by that time seven injured people had been pulled from the rubble, four of whom “are not in good physical condition.”
However, this emergency official emphasized that “it is still not clear whether the explosion was caused by a gas leak or not.”
This incident occurred one day after the Mashhad-Yazd passenger train crash in the Tabas area, which resulted in the death of 23 people.
Also, during the current month, the collapse of the Metropol Tower in Abadan claimed at least 41 victims, an incident that made the issue of building and structure safety in Iran a headline news topic.
