Complete Removal of Beard is Not Permissible

Hujjat al-Islam “Hossein Vahidpour” declared in one of his teachings in recent days that completely removing facial hair is not permissible.
Given the Taliban’s entry into Iran and the Taliban-like restrictions that have also affected the Islamic Republic regime, such as the poisoning of schoolgirls to prevent their education and mandatory hijab, as well as odd-even parking schemes to separate women and men in society, another ruling has been added to the clerics’ fatwas regarding the impermissibility of shaving beards.
Hujjat al-Islam Hossein Vahidpour, an expert in Islamic jurisprudence, stated in one of his lectures regarding beard grooming: “Shaving the beard has no special ruling; in other words, removing the beauty from a man’s face in such a way that the observer sees no facial beauty is not permissible.
Removing facial hair can be done by razor, epilation, electric devices, buzzer, or hair removal cream. The method of shaving in any form is not the criterion; what matters is that a person does not completely remove their facial beauty. Among Islamic jurists, there is no one who has sanctioned this action. Therefore, one cannot excuse oneself by saying that I am acting according to a specific jurist’s ruling.
All sources of emulation have not issued permission for shaving beards. Another point is that individuals sometimes do not do this themselves and resort to barbershops to claim they have not committed a sin. There is no difference in this matter; a person puts himself at the disposal of a barber and the barber grooms his facial hair. In this case, two sins occur; both the barber and the customer have committed a sin. The income that barbers earn by grooming men’s faces will have a religious problem that brings unfavorable consequences for the family.”
It is possible that with people’s silence in the face of these Taliban-like behaviors that increase in number every day, more unpleasant events and crimes may occur in Iran.
But has the revolutionary flame of the people been extinguished, or does it remain under the ashes, burning more fiercely than before?
