Continuation of Rising Trend in Currency Prices in Iran; Dollar Continues in the 18,000 Toman Channel

Continuing the upward trend in currency prices in Iran, on Monday, June 16, each US dollar was priced at 18,280 tomans in the free market.
According to reports from Iranian media outlets, in the free market, the euro rate has reached 20,300 tomans, and each British pound is also trading at 22,300 tomans.
The renewed increase in currency prices in Iran began on the first day of this week and reached a new record today. Additionally, a new design full Bahar Azadi coin sold for 7,700,000 tomans and an old design coin sold for 7,350,000 tomans.
According to reports, the dollar price in the first half of last year was between 11,000 to 12,000 tomans, but in the second half of the year due to increased gasoline prices, domestic protests, and international tensions with Iran, the dollar price reached the threshold of 15,000 tomans in December 2019.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said in November of last year about Iran’s economic situation: “Iran is a different country. Iran is now full of uprising and rebellion. We have imposed strong sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Their economic growth dropped 25 percent. We can never allow the Iranian regime to have nuclear weapons. They give weapons to rebels.”
The United States, since President Trump took office, stating that the JCPOA nuclear agreement has not prevented the destabilizing activities of the Islamic Republic, as the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, withdrew from the JCPOA.
