Netanyahu to Iranian People: You Showed Courage on the Football Field and in the Streets; Stopping Ronaldo from Scoring Was Impossible, but You Managed It

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, has delivered another exclusive message to the Iranian people, referring to the success of Iran’s national football team, and expressed hope that circumstances will develop such that one day Iran and Israel will face each other in a “free Tehran.”

In this 70-second video released on Tuesday, June 26, on the Israeli Prime Minister’s Twitter account, Mr. Netanyahu, while holding a football in his hand, asks: Can you imagine how difficult it is to prevent Ronaldo from scoring? He then answers that he used to play football in the past and tells you it is almost impossible, but the Iranian team made the impossible happen.

The Israeli Prime Minister was referring to Iran’s 1-1 draw in its final World Cup match in Russia against Portugal.

The Israeli Prime Minister also said: I want to tell the Iranian people: You proved your courage on the football field, and today you have displayed that same courage in the streets of Iran.

Mr. Netanyahu was referring to Tuesday’s protests by the people and bazaar merchants.

Addressing Iran’s Problems and Renewing Offers to Help the Iranian People

Mr. Netanyahu, who is delivering direct messages to the Iranian people for the nth time, this time also spoke about Iran’s current economic problems and crises, including air and water pollution, saying: Do you know what would happen if the Iranian government, instead of wasting your money in Syria and Yemen and unnecessary wars in the Middle East, invested this money in Iran?

He also answered his own question by saying: The solution to all these problems is with the Iranian people. For this reason, after the severe earthquake, I offered medical assistance to save the lives of Iranians. For this reason, we launched a Persian-language Telegram channel to teach Iranian farmers how to protect water resources, and for exactly this reason I will never stop talking about peace with the Iranian people.

Mr. Netanyahu ended his remarks with the hope that one day, I hope to witness a direct match between Iran’s football team and Israel in free Tehran. On that day, we will all be winners.

Multiple Messages to the People for Liberation and Freedom

This is the nth message from the Israeli Prime Minister to the Iranian people in recent weeks. Two weeks ago, he said that if the Iranian people are freed from the “grip of tyranny,” he will travel to Tehran and meet with the Iranian people.

Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on the government’s Twitter account in Persian that the Islamic Republic is trying to create hatred between us. But the day you are freed from the grip of tyranny, I will come to Tehran and meet with the courageous people of Iran.

Continuing this message, which coincides with his series of tweets about helping solve Iran’s water shortage and drought crisis, he added: The reason for launching a website and Persian-language channel to protect water resources is simple: this can save the lives of countless Iranian people.

On June 11, he announced in a video message that Israel is helping the Iranian people escape the drought.

In his video message, while emphasizing that mismanagement, incompetence, and theft of resources by the Iranian regime have caused suffering to the Iranian people, he says that Israel also faces water challenges; but with advanced technology, it has solved this problem in agriculture.
