Death Sentence of Mahan Sadrat Referred for Execution

The death sentence of “Mahan Sadrat Marni,” one of the detainees from the protests, was referred to the execution office this morning on December 10th.
Given the substantial public reactions to the execution of Mohsen Shekari, today we are witnessing the enforcement notice being issued for the death sentence of another 23-year-old youth.
“Mahan Sadrat Marni,” a 23-year-old youth detained during the protests, was charged by the Judiciary News Agency with armed rebellion, assembly and conspiracy to commit crimes against national security, motorcycle arson, destruction of a complainant’s phone, intentional wounding of the complainant with a knife, and was sentenced to death.
According to Mahan’s father’s statement, during a meeting held with the complainants on Wednesday evening, he obtained their consent to have Mahan’s case dismissed favorably; however, since Mahan Sadrat’s charge was armed rebellion, the complainants’ consent had no effect on his death sentence.
Mahan’s father also stated that this morning one of the case lawyers contacted them and informed them of an enforcement notice in which the execution of Mahan’s death sentence was specified. He further stated that since the enforcement of the sentence, no information has been provided to them.
Not only is Mahan Sadrat’s life in danger, but there are other young people to whom the Islamic Republic government has issued death sentences.

How long will the Islamic Republic government continue to enforce these sentences? And will Iran’s protesting people allow these executions to continue?
