Death Sentences Issued for 15 Young Protesters

Death sentences have been issued for 15 young people who were arrested during nationwide protests.
The Islamic Republic government has thus far issued death sentences for many of those arrested during nationwide protests on charges of “moharebeh” (enmity against God) and “efsad-e fel-arz” (corruption on earth).
Another tragic event circulated on social media brings news of death sentences for a number of teenagers and young adults. While human rights organizations and experts express concern about the issuance of death sentences for protesters in Iran, 15 young people arrested during nationwide protests were tried on November 30 in the first branch of the Revolutionary Court in Karaj. These 15 individuals have been charged with “corruption on earth” and “attacking security and Basij forces,” charges that carry a death sentence under Islamic Republic law. They were also denied the right to have a lawyer of their choice. It should be noted that 3 of them are 17 years old.
Iranians protested this verdict by releasing their names. To prevent the execution and show support for these young people named “Reza Aria, Mohammad Mahdi Karami, Arin Farzamniya, Farzaneh Ghare-Hassanlu, Hamid Ghare-Hassanlu, Ali Moazzami Godarzi, Behrad Ali-Kanari, Reza Shakerzadeh, Javad Zargarran, Amir Mahdi Jafari, Amin Mahdi Shakrallahi, Shayan Charni, Mohammad Amin Akhlaqi, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Mehdi Mohammadi,” let us be their voice.
Can the nationwide protests by people called for during a three-day period on November 5, 6, and 7, along with the “Truth-Seeker” team’s efforts regarding the situation and events in Iran, overturn the death sentences that have been issued for many of the detainees?
