Death toll from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad earthquake rises to 63

The governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad announced on Thursday, February 19, that the number of injured from the earthquake in Sisan city has risen to 63 people.
Hosein Kalantari described the damage caused by the earthquake as “serious” and stated that “homes have sustained between 10 to 100 percent damage”.
Sisan city, the center of Dana County, as well as Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, experienced an earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the evening of February 18.
The earthquake occurred at 22:05 local time and its epicenter was reported to be at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface.
Initial reports from the National Emergency Organization indicated that 44 people, including four in Samirm and 40 in Dana County, were injured as a result of the earthquake. However, the governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad announced that the number of injured has reached 63, although most of them have been treated in Sisan.
Mr. Kalantari also stated that 25 of the injured have been transferred to hospitals and rescue operations are continuing.
It was previously reported that two of the injured are in critical condition.
