DiCaprio Finally Wins Oscar; ‘Spotlight’ Wins Best Picture

Leonardo DiCaprio finally managed to win the Oscar award for his performance in the film “The Revenant.” He had previously been nominated for an Oscar four times for acting.

The winners of the 88th Academy Awards were announced on the morning of Monday, March 1st, in Los Angeles, USA.

At this ceremony, the film “Spotlight” managed to win the Oscar for Best Picture. This film, directed by Tom McCarthy, also received the award for Best Screenplay.

The Oscar for Best Director was awarded to Alejandro González Iñárritu for the film “The Revenant.” This year, Mr. Iñárritu, unlike the previous period, was unsuccessful in winning the Oscar for Best Picture.

The award for Best Cinematography was also awarded to the film “The Revenant.” This is the third consecutive year that Emmanuel Lubezki has won the Oscar for Best Cinematography, thereby setting a record for himself.

Other awards for the film “The Revenant” were a breakthrough for the Academy Awards ceremony.

“Ex Machina” received the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. The Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film was awarded to the film “Inside Out.”

Continuing the 88th Academy Awards ceremony, the award for Best Foreign Language Film was given to László Nemes for directing the film “Son of Saul” from Hungary.

Also, the award for Best Documentary Feature went to the film “Amy” about the life and death of Amy Winehouse, British singer.

At this year’s ceremony, finally Ennio Morricone, the great composer in the history of cinema, was able to win the Oscar award for composing the score of a film. Mr. Morricone, who had previously received an Honorary Oscar for a lifetime of artistic work, received the award for Best Original Score for the film “The Hateful Eight.” He had previously been nominated for an Oscar five times.

Sam Smith also won the Oscar for Best Original Song with the song “The Writing’s on the Wall” which was sung in the film “Spectre,” the latest James Bond film.
