Empress Farah Pahlavi on Executions in Iran: The Person Before You Is a Child of This Land

Empress Farah Pahlavi on Wednesday, July 16, issued a statement and audio message in response to death sentences issued for three young protesters in Iran, stating that those issuing such sentences must be reminded that the person standing before you is a child of this land, and imagine that before you stands your own son or father, mother, brother or sister.

Empress Farah Pahlavi added: Furthermore, you must know that the unjust sentence you are issuing adds to the anger, disgust, and sense of vengeance of this noble and patient nation. This vicious cycle must be broken so that perhaps in the not-too-distant future, the forgiveness of future generations may extend to the perpetrators of today’s injustice.
