Explosion in oil and gas pipeline in Shush leaves at least ‘three dead’

The governor of Shush announced on Tuesday, the 15th of Tir, that an explosion at an oil and gas transmission pipeline station in the ‘Fathollahmobin’ section of this county has left three dead and four wounded.
Adnan Ghazi told the Islamic Republic News Agency, IRNA, that this explosion was caused by ‘gas settling’ at the oil and gas transmission pipeline station.
Stating that the explosion site was between the villages of Bayt Ajam and Mujahidin, he identified the three dead as ‘specialists from the Western Oil and Gas Operating Company’.
The governor of Shush said that four other people were severely wounded in the explosion and have been transferred to a hospital in the city.
Iran’s oil and gas industry has repeatedly witnessed explosions and fires in recent years. On June 12 of this year, a massive fire broke out at the Tehran Refinery, which left several injured. Fires at petrochemical complexes have also been among the incidents in recent years in Iran’s oil and gas industry.
