Four Students Arrested During Nationwide Protests

Hrana News Agency – In recent days, four students in Lahijan, Shiraz, and Tehran have been arrested and transferred to unknown locations during nationwide protests.
According to Hrana News Agency, citing reports from student professional councils across the country, four students were arrested between Wednesday, September 30 and Sunday, October 3, 1401.
Mehdivar Garami, a physics student at Shiraz University, was arrested on Sunday, October 3, 1401 in Lahijan. Mohammad Ghalam Zadeh, a doctoral student of sociology at Tehran University, was arrested on Saturday, October 2. Soroush Ahmadi, a philosophy student at Tehran University from Baneh, was arrested in recent days by security forces. Additionally, Rihane Naseri, a physics student at Shiraz University, was arrested on Wednesday, September 30, and after 4 days has been denied contact rights.
To date, there is no information regarding the charges against them or their place of detention.
The September 1401 protests refer to a series of nationwide protests that began on September 26 following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa (Zhina) Amini as a result of actions by the morality police in Tehran, and by October 1, 1401 had spread to at least 85 cities and 18 universities across 29 provinces of the country. These ongoing protests have so far resulted in the arrest of hundreds of people and the death and injury of dozens of protesters, including children.
Media outlets close to security institutions have published forced confessions from a number of detainees by accusing them of acts of violence. Similarly, the Iranian government has disrupted internet service across the country in residential areas and mobile phones.
