From Protest Streets to Spiritual Rebirth of ‘Ali Rezaei Majd’ in Christ

“Ali Rezaei Majd,” a Christian citizen, speaks of his experience from street protests to his spiritual rebirth in Christ, a story of faith, danger, and hope at the heart of exile, which brought about a profound transformation within him.
Ali Rezaei, a fitness trainer from Iran, after experiencing the tense days of nationwide protests and being forced to leave his country, spoke with CBN News about a path that fundamentally transformed his life; a path that began on the inflamed streets of Iran and led to a profound experience of Christian faith beyond the borders.
Before leaving Iran, he was engaged in bodybuilding instruction in the city of “Dorud.” During the protests, he witnessed scenes of violence and repression that had a deep impact on his outlook on life and the future. Losing friends and witnessing brutal crackdowns compelled him to publish a video in English to become a narrator of Iranians’ conditions to world public opinion. This action received widespread attention and quickly exposed him to security threats.
Following the release of this video, warned by those around him, he was forced to leave the country immediately. His departure from Iran was accompanied by numerous difficulties and dangers; a journey marked by clandestine movements and passage through unsafe routes, ultimately leading him to reach Iraqi soil.
However, what stood out most on this path was not merely escape from physical dangers, but an internal transformation that had been occurring throughout his life for years. Ali reveals in this conversation that for about a decade he had secretly gravitated toward Christian faith, but due to existing limitations and dangers, had no opportunity to express it openly.
This path ultimately reached a fateful point on March 7th; when he was baptized with water in a simple setting, far from commotion, in a house church in Iraq, and formally declared his faith. This moment was for him a symbol of liberation from fear and the beginning of a new phase in his life.
He, now also known by the name “Michael,” continues his activities with a different approach. According to his statements, he is currently present with a Kurdish group in Iraq and is preparing himself to play a role in Iran’s future; a role that, he says, is rooted in Christian beliefs and teachings based on forgiveness and responsibility.
In part of his remarks, he emphasizes: “As a Christian, I forgive all members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and will pray for them every day. But I think to God I am like a sheepdog. A sheepdog sometimes must protect the sheep. So I think this is what I should do.”
The narrative of Ali Rezaei Majd’s life is a portrayal of the intersection of difficult human experiences with the search for deeper meaning in faith; a path in which suffering, exile, and danger have been transformed into a foundation for the formation of hope and a redefinition of life’s purpose. This story shows that even in circumstances filled with pressure and insecurity, the quest for truth and faith can become a force for continuing the path and standing firm.
