Iran on the Brink of War

After launching a missile attack on Israel, Iran has placed itself on the brink of war.
Iran’s missile attack on Israel on Tuesday evening prompted Israel to vow retaliation, and naturally the Islamic Republic announced it would deliver a stronger and more devastating response to Tuesday’s attacks, placing Iran on the brink of war.
According to reports released by an American media outlet, Joe Biden, while noting that the Middle East has drawn closer to all-out war, has made efforts to control and limit the escalation between Iran and Israel. Additionally, the Washington Post reported: “Israeli officials have indicated they may not conduct a widespread attack on Iran, but the region remains at risk of ignition.”
Several senior Biden administration officials who wished to remain anonymous said regarding Israel’s response to Iran: “On Wednesday, October 2, Israeli officials privately stated they do not believe there is an immediate need for a widespread attack on Iran. However, U.S. and European officials are concerned that Israel may strike Iran’s economic targets, which could trigger a dangerous escalatory response.”
Tehran, in response to Netanyahu’s warnings, emphasized that attacks on Iran’s oil and gas industries would be a red line, and if such an attack occurs, the likelihood of Iranian retaliatory attacks against Israel and Western energy interests would increase, potentially disrupting the global economy before U.S. elections.
The Washington Post further reported: “U.S. officials stated that they will encourage Israel to respond in a more measured manner, but America’s European allies are concerned that Washington’s pressure on the Netanyahu government may not be sufficient.”
The Biden administration, which has asked Israeli leaders to exercise restraint, is concerned about Netanyahu’s subsequent decisions, as far-right figures can have considerable influence on Netanyahu’s choices, which could change the situation, as private promises from Israeli leaders over the past year have not been guaranteed.
On the other hand, Israeli leaders have adopted and announced aggressive decisions against Iran in the public sphere because Israel has a strong desire for a broad military response against Iran. Israel believes that Iran has lost its strongest regional supporter, Hezbollah, and has been greatly weakened. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also recently called on Netanyahu to immediately authorize strikes on Iran’s nuclear program.
Naftali Bennett, in a post on social media, said: “We must now act to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, its central energy facilities, and to deliver a deadly blow to this regime’s capabilities. Iran’s regional supporters have been weakened, and now we must deal with Iran, which is at the heart of this issue.”
Joe Biden, in response to this message, stated that he would not support Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
