Judicial Officials Demand Sepideh Qolian Report to Prison After She Refuses to Write Pardon Request to Khamenei

Sepideh Qolian, a civil activist who is temporarily free on bail, announced through a video posted on her Twitter page that she has been ordered to report to Qarchak Prison after refusing to write a pardon request letter to Khamenei following her visit to the Evin Prosecutor’s Office execution department.

Sepideh Qolian, a civil activist currently at liberty on temporary bail, announced on Tuesday, June 17, in a video posted on her Twitter page that she has been told she will be transferred to Qarchak Prison because she refused to write a letter requesting a pardon from the Supreme Leader.

She explained in this regard that she was told “write a pardon request to the leadership,” and when this civil activist disagreed with this, she was instructed to contact her family and inform them that she has been transferred to Qarchak Prison.

Qolian, stating that she was informed of her transfer “without any formal notice,” added that after her family contacted her, she was made to commit to reporting to the prison on Sunday.

The civil activist announced that her explanations regarding her objection to the pardon process and the Haft Tappeh matters will be released after she goes to prison.

Also, Jamal Heidari, Sepideh Qolian’s lawyer, posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 17, announcing the news that his client “was sentenced to five years in prison for supporting Haft Tappeh workers” and her name was “removed from the list of those pardoned in this case without valid justification.”

Previously, Sepideh Qolian, who was arrested following her exposure of coerced confessions and torture along with Ismail Bakhshi, and was temporarily released on November 25 along with several labor activists on a bail of 500 million tomans, was again arrested at her father’s home on the night of November 15 during her participation in November public protests, and after several days was ultimately released on December 3 on a bail of 200 million tomans.

She had also previously mentioned on Twitter her personal experience regarding television confessions during her detention, writing that a IRIB journalist named “Ameneh Sadat Zabih Pour” prepared a predetermined text during the production of the television program “Burned Design” in the interrogation room for Sepideh Qolian to confess to on camera.

The U.S. State Department has repeatedly condemned violent responses and widespread suppression of protesters in various cases, as well as repeated and continuous violations of the rights of Iranian citizens by the regime ruling that country.
