Kish Chob Factory Workers Hold Gathering to Collect 14 Months of Unpaid Wages

Workers at the Kish Chob factory held a protest gathering for the nth time, demanding payment of at least 14 months of overdue wages and the 1395 year bonus.
According to the Iran Labor News Agency, ILNA, this production unit’s operations have been suspended since October of last year. Protesting workers say that not only have officials’ promises not been fulfilled, but a number of workers who participated in last year’s protest gatherings have been laid off under the pretext of contract termination.
One of the Kish Chob managers told ILNA that the factory closure was “due to the country’s economic situation,” but the facility has now resumed operations. He promised that a portion of the workers’ demands will be paid soon and that laid-off workers will gradually be returned to their previous jobs.
In recent days, a large number of workers from production units in various regions of Iran have held gatherings to collect their demands.
