Lack of Internet Access Causes Student from Qayen to Fall from Mountain

A student from Romashtak village in Qayen, who had climbed a mountain to access the internet and participate in an online class, was hospitalized after falling from the mountain. However, the general director of education in South Khorasan province claimed that this student went to the mountain not to attend an online class, but to harvest saffron!

According to Hrana news agency, citing Zirkoh News, an attempt to access the internet in the mountainous areas of Romashtak village in Qayen resulted in a student falling from the mountain.

Based on this report, the student in question, who suffered severe injuries including to the eye and face area, was transferred to the hospital for treatment.

However, the general director of education in South Khorasan province stated on Tuesday, November 20, 1399, that this student went to the mountain to harvest saffron and that his fall has no connection to lack of internet access!

Mohammad Ali Vaghei, noting that attendance in class is not mandatory, added: The class was held at 5 p.m. that day, and this student had logged into the Shad network the previous session using his sister’s phone in Noghab village in the same area.

Vaghei also claimed: Moreover, in areas of the province where the internet does not exist, curricula are distributed to students, and students do not need to go to high altitudes to connect to the Shad network.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus, social networks have played an increasingly important and prominent role in student education, but many students from villages across the country are forced to risk disease and environmental hazards of high altitudes. They leave their homes and areas to properly use the internet and resort to mountain passes and peaks.
