Bookstore ‘Nashr Cheshme’ Sealed Due to Failure to Observe Hijab

The bookstore ‘Nashr Cheshme’ located in Tehran was sealed due to failure to observe hijab.

According to informed sources close to the aforementioned trade unit, on the evening of yesterday, Sunday, the 15th of Mordad month, the bookstore ‘Nashr Cheshme’ located on the fifth floor of the Cyrus commercial complex in Tehran was sealed by the public places surveillance police of the city due to what was termed ‘failure to observe Islamic principles.’

In recent months and weeks, we have witnessed the sealing of many trade units including restaurants, clothing stores, cafes, local shops, and others due to failure to observe hijab. The sealing of these centers is happening while, according to statements by a jurist in this regard, sealing trade units in the name of combating hijab is not legal. According to the law, crime and punishment must be proportionate. Therefore, the legislator has not yet defined a crime on the basis of which trade units would be punished due to improper hijab or lack of hijab.
