Narges Mohammadi: Do Prison Authorities Want to Prepare a Death Like Saber and Abtahi’s for Me?

Narges Mohammadi, a human rights defender held in Qarchak Prison, has questioned whether prison authorities want to prepare a death similar to that of Hadi Saber and Baktash Abtahi for her, after announcing that prison security and intelligence officials have “confiscated” her emergency heart and lung medications and are refusing to hand them over to her.
Narges Mohammadi’s Instagram account, vice-president of the Human Rights Defenders Center, wrote on Sunday, the fifth of Tir, quoting her: “On Thursday morning, following shortness of breath and irregular heart rhythm, I was taken to the hospital. After an echocardiogram, the specialist doctor stated that the lungs and heart are under pressure and after a detailed report to the prison warden and the prescription of emergency medications, I was returned to prison.”
According to the report quoting Ms. Mohammadi: “Prison security and intelligence, while confiscating the medications, explicitly announced that if they are approved, the medications will be handed over to the prisoner, but as of 12 o’clock Sunday, despite my repeated follow-ups, they have not been delivered.”
Ms. Mohammadi warned the judicial authorities: “Do you want to prepare for me the same death that you prepared for the late Hadi Saber and Baktash Abtahi?”
The Instagram account of this human rights activist, in an update to the report, announced that “finally the medications were delivered, except for the main medication which is an ampoule for the lungs” and “it needs to be injected urgently.”
Previously, on the 30th of Farvardin, Mostafa Nili, Ms. Mohammadi’s lawyer, announced that despite the preparation and delivery of medications to the prison, Qarchak prison officials are refusing to hand them over to Narges Mohammadi.
