Pope Francis Calls on Baku and Yerevan to Dialogue on Ending Humanitarian Crisis

Pope Francis called on Baku and Yerevan to engage in dialogue with each other regarding an agreement to end the humanitarian crisis.
Following a sudden wave of migration from Armenian Nagorno-Karabakh and fears of potential violence and massacres, warnings about the danger of “ethnic cleansing” among Armenians intensified within Western Christian circles to the extent that, according to statements by a French Parliament representative, the current situation has awakened “a genocide of Armenians.” Yerevan also announced that Karabakh has been emptied and only a few hundred Armenians remain.
Simone Abkarian and Marie Tousson also stated in response to the current situation that the European Union was willing to make a deal with the “Ilham Aliyev” regime due to severe winter conditions and securing necessary energy supplies, since Russian gas was unreliable; however, now Azerbaijani gas is also tainted with blood.
According to a report by Javan Online, Pope Francis also responded to the situation in Yerevan and the migration of Armenians, saying: “These days I am following the tragic situation of refugees in Karabakh and I call for dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. I hope that negotiations between the two sides, with the support of the international community, will help reach an agreement. A long-term agreement that will end this humanitarian crisis.”
