Prince Reza Pahlavi: After the Regime Falls, Religious Discrimination in Iran Will End

Prince Reza Pahlavi, on the eve of Christmas celebrations, spoke about the fall of the regime and the end of religious discrimination that will follow.

Prince Pahlavi on Tuesday, December 24th, on the eve of Christians’ Christmas celebration and Jews’ Hanukkah festival, posted a message on social media.

While emphasizing that after the fall of the Islamic Republic, religious discrimination in a free and democratic Iran will end, he wrote: “Christians around the world over the next two weeks will celebrate Christmas and the beginning of the new year, and Jews will commemorate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. I wholeheartedly extend my warm wishes for these two festivals to all Christians and Jews in Iran who are an inseparable part of our ancient and civilized nation.”

Addressing Christians and Jews in Iran, he said: “Dear Christian and Jewish countrymen, since the Islamic Republic’s rule over Iran, you have endured the regime’s double oppression. You have been deprived of your basic rights and faced executions, assassinations, imprisonment, torture, hate-mongering, and systematic harassment. But I assure you that after the regime’s fall, in a free and democratic future Iran, your fundamental rights will be restored.

Religious discrimination will end and under secularism and the rule of law, freedom of belief for all citizens will be guaranteed. In that glorious future, Iranians of every faith and religion will play an essential role side by side in rebuilding our homeland.”

He further added: “We are the children of Cyrus, and his precious legacy for us is the peaceful coexistence of religions and faiths under the umbrella of a strong state that defends human rights. Let us believe that once again the light of Iran will triumph over the darkness of Ahriman, and the Iranian nation will achieve the peace, freedom, and security that they deserve.”
