Prince Reza Pahlavi: ‘Convergence of Pro-Iran and Freedom-Seeking Organizations’ Meeting Was Successful

Prince Reza Pahlavi, by issuing a statement, described the “Convergence of Pro-Iran and Freedom-Seeking Organizations” meeting as successful.

Yesterday, Sunday, February 16, corresponding to Bahman 28, the “Convergence of Pro-Iran and Freedom-Seeking Organizations” meeting was held in Munich. At this meeting, Prince Reza Pahlavi and a number of activists and representatives of pro-Iran parties including Iran Monarchy, Rastakhiz Iranian Nationalists, Kurdish Patriotic Iranians, Republican Society Supporting Reza Pahlavi, Iran Novin Party, Organization of New Order of Iranians, Apadana Association of Britain, Red Lion and Sun Society, Association of Freedom-Loving Athletes of Iran, Hope Association Hamburg, Nikasa Association, Secular Democrat Party, and the November 7 Front were present.

This meeting was held simultaneously with the Munich Security Conference, a conference that had refrained from inviting and hosting Pahlavi. The aim of this meeting was to create a mechanism for cooperation between different groups without forming new organizations. Prince Pahlavi, while criticizing the fact that he had not been invited to this conference, described it as a betrayal of the Iranian people and Germany’s democratic values.

Prince Reza Pahlavi issued a statement regarding this meeting, and while thanking the supporters and organizations that participated in this meeting, called for unity and support instead of division. He also described the meeting as successful.

He published a statement regarding the Munich convergence meeting on his X account and wrote: “In the Munich convergence meeting, representatives of participating organizations were able to reach agreement and consensus on principles and frameworks of cooperation in a transparent process and before the eyes of millions of Iranians, and announced the beginning of their cooperation publicly. These organizations have now committed themselves to cooperating with each other on specific plans and practical projects and to report to the people. This is the beginning of the road and it will remain open to other organizations that were not present in this meeting but want to be part of the solution.”

He also, while emphasizing three principles of “good speech, good thought, good deed” and drawing boundaries regarding cursing, threats, and undemocratic behavior, added: “We are not here to determine the fate and future of whether Iran’s next government will be a republic or a monarchy. Our goal today is only to save Iran, and in the future our mission is to make it possible to hold free elections in Iran.”

While calling the single-party system before the revolution a mistake, Pahlavi emphasized the importance of strengthening and multiplying political parties to achieve democracy in Iran. He also asked his supporters not to reduce his national role to representing a particular movement and to avoid marginalization and premature leadership-building, as this could cause discord.

He also criticized the titles attributed to him by people, under the name “King Reza Pahlavi,” and said: “The position I have for myself is from today until the referendum, and we have no right to say from today what the next government will look like.”

At the end of the mentioned meeting, the groups and parties present in it considered and emphasized the important role of Prince Pahlavi as the leader of the national revolution and the transition period until the election of the first democratically elected parliament and government through free elections.

Prince Pahlavi also, while referring to his trip to Geneva to participate in the human rights meeting on February 18, added regarding the Munich convergence meeting: “In this regard, I ask all compatriots and independent and influential figures on social networks to support this initiative and not allow those who do not want this union and convergence to succeed to create division.

Also, after the Munich convergence meeting, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with a group of victims of the Mahsa uprising. Young people who sacrificed their bodies and souls for Iran’s freedom and even lost a limb in this cause, but still carry the love of Iran in their words and deeds. They and other victims whose place was empty in this meeting are like my children, and I believe they will have a bright future in the day of a free Iran.”

At the end of his remarks, he said: “At the end of this part of my trip, I want to thank all compatriots from different parts of Europe and America who, despite snow and winter cold, came to the streets of Munich and demonstrated their unity, became the voice of the Iranian people and showed their support for my efforts.

As I have said before, my strength comes from your power, and your trust and support is my greatest asset. I also thank the non-profit organization The Munich Circle for their support of the victims of the protests and for hosting the Munich convergence meeting.”
