Prince Reza Pahlavi Meets with Lawmakers in House of Representatives and Senate

Prince Reza Pahlavi met with lawmakers in the House of Representatives and Senate at the U.S. Congress.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, during his presence in the House of Representatives and Senate at the U.S. Congress, spoke about the situation in Iran and guiding the country toward democracy.

He wrote in a post on social media X: “This week I was again at the U.S. Congress and met with lawmakers in the House and Senate, and I had a clear message for them.” Regarding his message at Congress, he added: “The regime’s nuclear program, missile weapons, fatwas against President Trump, the regime’s crimes and its widespread corruption, will not be erased by procrastination or diplomacy. These threats will only be completely eliminated when the Islamic Republic regime itself is destroyed. The fall of this regime is now inevitable, and I have a plan to guide Iran toward democracy. The world should not throw a lifeline to the regime.”

Dorothy Shea, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, also made remarks during a Security Council meeting regarding the situation in Iran and said: “Iran is now at a sensitive juncture and the Islamic Republic must choose between two paths: continuing to violate nuclear commitments and support proxy groups, or returning to meaningful diplomacy to end its weapons program. The time for Tehran to decide has now come.”

Shea also warned about efforts to acquire nuclear weapons by the Islamic Republic and added: “If the current path continues and in the absence of an agreement, the United States will continue to apply maximum diplomatic and economic pressure to constrain any activities such as efforts to acquire nuclear weapons that threaten the security of U.S. citizens, forces, and partners in the region. Washington’s preferred course is Tehran’s return to nuclear commitments and the start of ‘meaningful and timely diplomacy.’ This is the only way to achieve lasting peace and global integration for Iran and its people.”
