Trump’s Christian Ally Warns Tehran: Islamic Republic Could Collapse by 2028

“Mike Evans,” a prominent figure among American evangelical Christians and a close ally of Donald Trump, warned in his latest remarks in Jerusalem that any attempt by the Islamic Republic to deceive the U.S. president in potential future negotiations could face a harsh and decisive response; a response that, according to him, could lead to the collapse of the Islamic Republic’s rule by 2028.

Mike Evans, founder of the “Friends of Zion Museum” in Jerusalem and a recognized leader of the pro-Israel Christian movement in America, outlined the prospects for Tehran-Washington relations in the new American political period in an interview with Jewish media outlet JNS. Referring to recent negotiations and developments regarding Iran, he said: “The Islamic Republic thinks it can outwit Donald Trump in potential future agreements”; however, according to him, Trump is designing a long-term strategy and will finish the job if he feels betrayed.

Evans stated in this interview: “If Iran deceives Trump and makes him look foolish (and I believe this will happen), he will take his revenge and finish it.” This quote, which has been widely reflected in conservative and pro-Israel media, is part of his analysis of the future of Tehran-Washington confrontation.

This evangelical leader, who has long been considered a steadfast supporter of Israel and an influential figure among Trump’s religious support base, believes that Middle Eastern developments are entering a new phase; a phase that could be accompanied by the expansion of the “Abraham Accords” and the normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel. In his recent remarks, he has also described Saudi Arabia’s potential participation in the normalization process as “realistic.”

Evans has also emphasized that the influence of evangelical Christians in America’s political structure, particularly in Trump’s inner circle, remains very high. In one of his statements, he said: “We are the force behind him. Stand firm for Israel.” These remarks reflect the prominent role of the evangelical movement in supporting pro-Israel policies in Washington.

He, who has recently traveled to Israel again, has launched multiple media campaigns in support of Trump and Israel during the war and regional tensions. Among them, a campaign with the slogan “Thank God and Donald Trump” whose billboards were placed in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Evans has described these developments as “a historic moment for the Middle East.”

Mike Evans, alongside his media and political activities, also heads the “Friends of Zion” organization; an institution that identifies itself as a defender of Israel and a fighter against anti-Semitism and has become one of the important centers of connection between American evangelical leaders and Israeli officials in recent years.
