Official coronavirus statistics in Iran: 227 deaths and more than 15,000 new infections

Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that 227 more patients with coronavirus died in the country in the 24 hours ending at noon on Wednesday.
According to the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health, during the same period, 15,340 new patients with COVID-19 were identified in Iran, of which 2,333 were hospitalized in medical centers across the country.
Including the statistics presented today, the official number of coronavirus patients in Iran has reached 6,998,975 people and the total number of deaths from the disease has reached 135,726.
Currently, 3,984 patients with COVID-19 in Iran are being cared for in intensive care units of hospitals.
Official coronavirus statistics are announced daily by the Iranian Ministry of Health, while the accuracy of these statistics is seriously questioned by independent sources.
Currently, 337 cities in Iran are in red status, 64 cities are in orange status, 47 cities are in yellow status, and no cities are in blue status.
