Families of two teachers' union activists unaware of their conditions in prison

The Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers' Unions announced that the families of Rasoul Badaghi and Jafar Ebrahimi, two imprisoned teachers' union activists, have been unaware of their status for about two weeks.

The council, referring to the transfer of Rasoul Badaghi and Jafar Ebrahimi to solitary confinement in Ward 240 of Evin Prison and their deprivation of contact with their families, said that this issue has caused them concern.

These two union activists were arrested on May 10, along with Mohammad Habibi, the spokesperson for the Teachers' Union, by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence.

The arrest of these and other union activists in recent days has drawn widespread criticism from human rights organizations and trade unions around the world.
