Two days after the Karkheh fire broke out, firefighting equipment was transferred to Khuzestan.

Two days after a fire broke out in Karkheh National Park in Khuzestan Province, provincial crisis management officials say they are transferring the necessary equipment and facilities to Khuzestan to fight the fire.

On Sunday evening, the forests of Karkheh caught fire, and many bird nests, such as sparrows and pigeons, as well as other animal species, were damaged in the fire.

Adel Mwal, Deputy Director of Natural Environment of the Khuzestan Environmental Protection Department, said that so far five people have been brought to court in connection with the fires in Karkheh and Dez national parks.

The Karkheh protected area is about 14,000 hectares, of which 7,500 hectares is a national park.
