A relatively strong earthquake shook Kerman and Hormozgan provinces.

Iranian media, citing emergency and crisis management officials, reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale 35 kilometers from Sargaz, located on the border between Kerman and Hormozgan provinces.
The United States Geological Survey also announced on its website that the earthquake occurred on Sunday night, February 12, 1991, 110 kilometers northeast of Bandar Abbas and at a depth of ten kilometers.
Mojtaba Khalidi, spokesman for the Iranian Emergency Organization, announced that the earthquake occurred at 7:34 p.m. and that two assessment teams had been dispatched to the site of the earthquake on the border between Kerman and Hormozgan provinces .
No reports of possible damage have been released yet.
