Sepideh Gholian was transferred from Evin Prison to Qarchak, Varamin.

After the re-arrest of civil activist Sepideh Gholian in February of last year, and the filing of a case with four charges, news reports indicate that she has been transferred from Evin Prison to Qarchak Prison in Varamin.

The Telegram channel of the Haft Tappeh Workers' Syndicate reported that Sepideh Gholian and Esmaeil Bakhshi had previously been transferred from Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz to Evin Prison on Sunday, May 29, 2019, by order of the Islamic Republic's security authorities, along with Amir (Ali) Amirgholi.

After her second arrest, Sepideh Qolyan has been charged with "propaganda activities against the regime, gathering and colluding to commit crimes against national security, collaborating with hostile groups, and disrupting public order."

Labor activist Esmaeil Bakhshi and civil society activist Sepideh Gholian were first arrested in November last year during protests by workers at the Haft Tappeh Sugar Company. After their release, the two announced that they had been tortured and forced to make "forced confessions" during their detention.

Amnesty International, issuing a statement on the occasion of International Workers' Day, called on the authorities of the Islamic Republic to immediately release workers and civil society activists who were arrested during strikes and other peaceful protests.
