Fox News: New satellite images of Iran's nuclear facilities raise concerns

Fox News reported that it had obtained satellite images of the Sanjarian site in Iran that showed "suspicious" developments there. The Sanjarian site was previously suspected of producing and building "shock wave generators" that would allow nuclear weapons to be built on a smaller scale.

The report, published on Tuesday evening, June 8, says that new satellite images from Maxar show that 18 vehicles were operating at the site on October 15, 2020. Activity at the site gradually increased and a new access road was built, but by March 2021, all traces were covered.

The report says that according to an investigation by two intelligence agencies, what is now visible in satellite images are excavation channels and new channels.

The Sanjarian site is located 40 kilometers from Tehran and has a population of about 361. The site was identified and introduced during the Mossad's 2018 disclosure of Iranian nuclear information.

In his latest report to the Board of Governors, Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, told the agency’s inspectors that four sites in Iran had been identified where traces of nuclear material had been found, and that Iran had not previously notified the agency. He said that Iran had not provided any information about one of the sites in the past three months, had ignored questions about two others, and that the report about the fourth site was unsubstantiated. He said this contradicted the claim of engagement made in a letter by Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Iran says it has no intention of producing nuclear weapons, but many other countries, especially Israel, are concerned about Iran's nuclear activities.
