Establishment of Global Alliance of Iranian Christians

A gathering of leaders and activists of Iranian Christians in England marks the establishment of a global Christian alliance.
A gathering was held in England in Farvardin of the current year, attended by approximately 180 Iranian Christian leaders and activists. As a result, on Friday, June 19, corresponding to Khordad 30, a declaration establishing the Global Alliance of Iranian Christians was released, which addressed the fundamental principles and reasons for the formation of this alliance.
The member organizations participating in this alliance consist of various church denominations, including church leaders, organization officials, and Christian activists. Mehrdad Fatehi, Sasan Toosali, Kamil Navai, Anahita Parsan, Mansour Barji, Omid Moludi, and Atiyeh Fard are members of the board of directors of this Global Alliance of Iranian Christians.
The fundamental principles of this declaration include: “Representation and defense of the rights of Iranian Christians,” “Promotion of justice, freedom, equality, and human dignity,” and “Continuous support for the right of religious freedom for Iranian Christians.” The reason for the formation of this alliance is in response to the “urgent need for solidarity, broader cooperation, and a unified voice among Iranian Christian communities.”
The text of the aforementioned declaration is as follows:
“We, the board members of the ‘Global Alliance of Iranian Christians,’ based on the provisions of the constitution of this alliance and on the basis of the official vote of the founding congress on April 4, 2025, formally announce the establishment of this international, non-governmental, and voluntary organization. At the conference held on that date in Britain, more than 180 Iranian Christian community leaders from around the world, recognizing the necessity of solidarity, strengthening cooperation, and having a unified voice among Iranian Christian communities, and relying on the teachings of the Holy Scriptures and the principles of authentic Christian faith, agreed to form this alliance.
The Global Alliance of Iranian Christians, as an international confederation consisting of churches, organizations, and Iranian Christian individuals, with common objectives such as strengthening cooperation and synergy, representation and defense of the rights of Iranian Christians, promotion of justice, freedom, equality, respect for human dignity, and preservation of authentic Christian teachings within the framework of shared values of members, has begun its activities.
This alliance, with its headquarters in London, Britain, and with the possibility of establishing regional offices in other parts of the world, commits itself to the following principles:
1. Complete adherence to the teachings and values of Christian faith
2. Respect for the independence and diversity of member institutions and operation within the framework of voluntary and non-binding participation
3. Effective and continuous support for the rights and religious freedoms of Iranian Christians at national, regional, and international levels
4. Strengthening cooperation and constructive dialogue among Iranian churches and Christian institutions in the national and global arenas
5. Playing an active role in fulfilling the church’s mission in effective service to surrounding communities
The organizational structure of the alliance will include the “Congress” as the highest decision-making body, the “Board of Directors” as the executive body, and “Specialized Commissions” as operational branches. All activities will be conducted based on the provisions of the approved constitution with full transparency and accountability.
This declaration is considered a formal announcement of the existence and commencement of operations of the “Global Alliance of Iranian Christians” and is valid for reference by all relevant institutions, partners, and stakeholders from the date of issuance.
