Woman Dies in Kerman Following Altercation Over Moral Policing

A 59-year-old woman died of a heart attack following an altercation and violence during a moral policing incident.

Videos circulating on social media show the death of a 59-year-old woman from a heart attack caused by an altercation and violence perpetrated by moral police enforcers.

According to eyewitness accounts, a bus carrying Basij members along with their families in the Shahzadeh Mahan garden in Kerman became involved in an altercation with a family over a hijab issue. During the incident, the 59-year-old woman suffered a heart attack due to stress and died.

However, news agencies affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have reported the incident differently. The IRNA, ISNA, Fars, and Tasnim news agencies reported it as a group brawl. According to IRNA, the Kerman governor described the incident as a group dispute motivated by personal reasons in the area around Mahan city and announced the arrest of those responsible. Several people were also injured in the altercation.

It should be noted that according to news agency reports, the woman was immediately transferred to the hospital for resuscitation attempts following the heart attack, but unfortunately the medical interventions were ineffective and ultimately resulted in her death. However, what is evident in the released video is that the woman died at the scene of the altercation and a white shroud was placed over her body by people.

The released video also tells another story. A bus carrying Basij members and their families was filming the scene of the altercation and apparently, far from being concerned about the death of the 59-year-old woman, they seemed satisfied with her death and made inappropriate remarks.

The agents of the Islamic Republic system consider it their right to resort to any assault, beating, and crime if someone does not obey their orders.
