What Are You Seeking Regime Change For?

When the song was played for Shervin Hajipour, it made me think more deeply and extensively about these reasons.
As a Christian, I felt compelled to write something about some of the injustices inflicted on the Church over these 43 years.
For the murder of Reverend Hossein Soodmand. With the advent of the Islamic Republic, in 1979, Reverend Hossein Soodmand was dismissed from his position. He was pressured to abandon his beliefs, but he refused. After enduring years of imprisonment, he was finally executed in Mashhad on December 3, 1990, and he was buried in a ruin on the outskirts of Mashhad.
For the murder of Reverend Haik Hovsepian. A faithful brother who served the Lord for years and played a major role in the formation of the Church. He courageously stood for Christ unto death and left us all an example of courage and devotion. His body was found on January 20, 1994, after being killed with multiple stab wounds. He had been threatened with death multiple times by agents of the Iranian government before his murder.
For pronouncing the apostasy verdict against Reverend Mehdi Dibaj. A faithful brother who spent 9 years and 27 days in prison for his faith, and was ultimately kidnapped by agents of the Intelligence Ministry on June 24, 1994, and his lifeless body was found.
For the murder of Reverend Tatavous Michaelian. On July 29, 1994, Reverend Tatavous left his home and never returned. On July 11 of that year, his body was found with several bullets in his head.
For imprisoning Christian citizens for labeling them as unclean and apostate for preventing Christian children from enrolling in schools for not having free churches in Iran for fear due to beliefs
This is only a glimpse of the crimes and injustices that the Islamic Republic has inflicted on the Christian community over these forty-three years. For these reasons, we seek regime change in Iran. We did not move heaven through force and cursing, but by raising our hands toward the sky and united prayer. We pray that the eyes of your hearts may be opened so that you realize your evil deeds and repent thereafter. Just as the eyes of the Apostle Paul’s heart were opened on the road to Damascus while he was pursuing the persecution of the Church. Otherwise, the word of God says: Those who take up the sword will perish by the sword.
Tomorrow (December 3) is the anniversary of the murder of Reverend Hossein Soodmand. We honor his memory and ask for God’s consolation for his family and the Farsi-speaking Christian community. The good news is that Hossein Soodmand is alive and in the presence of Jesus Christ.
You too, write for us. What are you seeking regime change for?
