National Strike by Scaffolding Workers in Iran’s Oil Projects

The Free Union of Iranian Workers announced on Wednesday a national strike by scaffolding workers employed in Iran’s oil projects.
According to the labor organization’s report, project-based scaffolding workers in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries are demanding wage increases based on their own proposal, as well as a work schedule of 20 working days and 10 rest days per month.
Project-based and contract workers in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries had demanded wage increases and a work schedule of “20 working days and 10 rest days” per month during their prolonged strike last summer.
These demands were implemented in a number of companies. In many other companies, promises were made to fulfill these demands, but these promises have not been kept.
