Child Rights Activist Afsaneh Azimzadeh Arrested by Security Forces in Tehran

Afsaneh Azimzadeh, a child rights activist, was arrested by security forces on Monday, December 15, and transferred to an unknown location. The arrest of Ms. Azimzadeh took place at Milad Hospital in Tehran while she was visiting the hospital to follow up on her mother’s heart condition. After the arrest, security personnel searched her residence and her mother’s house, confiscating some of her personal belongings and taking them away.
According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the human rights activists collective in Iran, on Monday, December 15, 1399 (December 15, 2020), Afsaneh Azimzadeh, a child rights activist, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.
Ms. Azimzadeh’s arrest took place at Milad Hospital in Tehran under circumstances where she had gone to the hospital to follow up on her mother’s heart condition.
An informed source regarding the conditions of this child rights activist’s arrest told Hrana: “Ms. Azimzadeh’s arrest took place in front of the eyes of her parents.”
After the arrest, security personnel searched her residence and also her mother’s house, confiscating some of her personal belongings and taking them with them.
