One Person Dies from Coronavirus in Europe Every 17 Seconds

The World Health Organization has warned about the rising curve of deaths from coronavirus in Europe. In the past two weeks, the number of victims of this disease in Europe has increased by 18 percent, with one person dying every 17 seconds.

Many European countries have imposed strict restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, the number of victims of this disease continues to rise.

On Thursday, November 19 (November 29 in the Persian calendar), Hans Kluge, director of the Europe division of the World Health Organization, announced in an online press conference in Copenhagen a 18 percent increase in COVID-19 deaths within two weeks in the European region. According to him, 29,000 people died in the past week in Europe, which means one person dies every 17 seconds as a result of contracting this disease.

France surpassed the two million coronavirus patient mark before other countries and 46,000 people have died from it since the outbreak of coronavirus. Italy’s Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday, November 28 that 34,283 new cases of coronavirus were reported within one day. 753 people died in one recent day in Italy. The total death toll in this country from last winter to now is 47,217 people and 1,270,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus.

Today, Lothar Wieler, head of Germany’s Robert Koch Institute research institution, once again called on people to comply with coronavirus regulations. He said we have not yet gotten past the peak of this disease and with an increase in the number of patients, hospital capacity may be exceeded. For this reason, further infection of citizens with coronavirus must be prevented.
