Donald Trump Finally Issues Order to Transfer Power to Joe Biden

After weeks of delay and insistence on the “theft” of his election victory, Trump formally issued an order for the official transfer of power. Now Joe Biden’s team can access government information and infrastructure. However, Trump still has not accepted his defeat.

With the publication of a Twitter post, Donald Trump has instructed members of his administration to cooperate with the official transfer of power to Joe Biden. This way, Joe Biden and his team will have access to the necessary information to carry out their duties after weeks of delay. Joe Biden’s inauguration will take place on January 20, 2021 and after his oath-taking ceremony.

Emily Murphy, administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration, has declared Joe Biden the winner of the election. Trump has asked Murphy in his Twitter post to take the necessary measures. He has made a similar request to his team.

A Necessary Step

Accordingly, the sum of $6.3 million allocated in the budget for the transfer of power to the new government will be placed at the disposal of Biden’s team.

Beyond that, Joe Biden’s associates can now formally contact U.S. government officials and agencies. This was something that was not possible before Trump’s order was issued.

Biden’s team stated, “The decision made today is an important step in the effort to overcome the challenges facing the United States.”

It should be noted that Donald Trump made no mention of losing the November 3 election in his Twitter post.

Trump even spoke again of the “theft” of election results on Monday, November 23. This is while 30 of Trump’s lawsuits have been rejected by courts so far on the grounds of being “groundless.”
