Fire Breaks Out at the Vicinity of St. Mary’s Church in Hamadan

Local websites have reported a fire at St. Mary’s Church in the city of Hamadan.
According to reports, the fire broke out on Friday morning and firefighting personnel immediately worked to extinguish the blaze.
A local channel reported that the fire occurred in the garden area (shrub garden) of the church.
Responsible officials have not yet provided any explanation regarding the cause of the fire.
Recently, the Mausoleum of Esther and Mordecai, a Jewish site in the city of Hamadan, was also attacked and parts of it were burned.
St. Mary’s Church dates back to the Qajar period and is located in the Armenian quarter of Hamadan.
This church was registered as one of Iran’s national monuments in December 1998.
