Three Muslim gunmen rape a Pakistani Christian woman in front of her husband

Three Muslim gunmen in Faisalabad, Pakistan, raped a Christian woman in front of her husband.

A shocking report has been released about the rape of a Christian woman from Pakistan, indicating that this incident occurred two weeks ago on March 25th and that the rape was committed by three masked armed men in Faisalabad.

According to Morning Star, “Adnan Masih” is a 34-year-old Christian worker who works in a brick kiln in Faisalabad. In an interview with the news network, he said: “On the night of March 25, my wife and I were returning home on a motorcycle when three masked and armed men stopped us. They forcibly took my gun, mobile phone and the small amount of money I was carrying and then threatened me with more money. When I told them that I was a poor Christian and an ordinary worker, they started whispering things in each other’s ears.

"One of them grabbed my wife's arm and dragged her to a nearby sugarcane field, and the other two tied me to a tree, then took turns raping my wife."

Adnan continues, choking back the bitterness in his throat: "Words are not enough to express the helplessness and agony I endured in those moments. After a while, my wife came out of the fields, her clothes torn and tears streaming down her cheeks. She could barely walk, but she slowly approached me and opened my hands. Then we both sat down and cried loudly.

"The Muslim attackers damaged our motorcycle so badly that we had to walk the rest of the way with great difficulty. When we finally reached home, our three children and relatives were waiting for us in the yard. We didn't dare tell them what had happened to us, so we went to our room and prayed, asking God to help us."

Adnan said in his statements that he contacted the police the day after the incident and explained everything that happened last night. He said in his statements: "The police registered a case, but only after the news was published in the media did they take serious action. A few days later, the police identified and arrested the three accused, because the governor of the state was informed about the incident and ordered an immediate investigation. The police chief and a senior state security official also came to our house and promised to deal with this matter severely."

Adnan Masih thanked Christian MP from Punjab Assembly Ijaz Augustine, who played a key role in following up on the incident. Ijaz Augustine, a former minister for human rights and minority affairs, said of Adnan's incident: "Such crimes continue despite severe legal penalties. Women from religious minorities are particularly vulnerable to sexual violence because they are easily identified by perpetrators. Moreover, most Christians living in Punjab are very poor and face numerous difficulties in accessing justice."

Last year (2024) there were several reports of women being raped by masked gunmen around Pakistani farms, one of which was similar to what happened to Adnan and his wife. Masked gunmen attacked a woman on a farm in the Punjab region of Pakistan and, after stealing her money and other belongings, raped her in front of her 3-year-old daughter and her husband. Such rapes by extremist Muslims, especially rapes of Christian women in Pakistan, often remain hidden and do not reach the media, which causes the authorities to not investigate or postpone these cases.

According to the Christian organization Open Doors, in 2025, Pakistan, ranked eighth on the organization's list, was ranked the most dangerous place for Christians to live.
