Toronto shooting suspect identified

The suspect in Sunday's deadly Toronto shooting that left two people dead has been identified as Faisal Hussain, 29.
According to the family of the suspect in the attack, Faisal Hussain suffered from mental illness.
Two girls, ages 10 and 18, were killed and at least 13 others were injured in a shooting on Danforth Street in Toronto's Greektown neighborhood at 10 p.m. Sunday. Police say Faisal Hussain's body was found shortly after the shooting.
Toronto police say the investigation into the motive for the shooting is ongoing.
"We don't know why this incident happened and we can't speculate on the suspect's motives. It's too early to comment on this," Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said on Monday, August 2.
Meanwhile, Faisal Hussain's family, in a statement, expressed deep sympathy with the families of the victims of the incident and said that he suffered from numerous mental illnesses and depression throughout his life.
Nathaniel Smith, a Toronto official, also said that the 18-year-old girl killed in the shooting Sunday evening was named Reese Fallon, and she had just graduated and was going to study nursing.
The Ontario Police Special Investigations Unit also said that on Sunday evening, the suspect exchanged gunfire with police and fled the scene, but his body was found shortly after the confrontation.
According to the report, the suspect was shot, but the cause of death has not yet been announced.
Monica Hudon, a spokeswoman for the Ontario Police Special Investigations Unit, said an autopsy on the shooter's body will be conducted on Tuesday.
This year, Toronto, Canada's largest city, has had more than 200 shootings, several of them fatal, AFP reported.
Last week, Toronto police implemented a "Gun Violence Reduction Plan."
Three months ago, a car ran over people in Toronto, killing 10 people, most of them women.
