Four civil and political activists in prison in critical condition; two transferred to hospital

Recent reports from Iranian prisons indicate the deteriorating condition of four prisoners: Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi, Sepideh Gholian, Arsham Rezaei, and Soheila Hijab.
Sepideh Gholian's family says that this civil activist has contracted the coronavirus once again and that "despite the severe symptoms," Evin Prison officials are refusing to grant her sick leave.
Sepideh Qolyan, who was sentenced to five years in prison in the Haft Tappeh protests case, was also infected with the coronavirus in June of this year.
In Mashhad, the wife of political prisoner Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi reported the deteriorating condition of his condition in Mashhad intelligence custody and his transfer to a hospital in the city.
Shahla Jahanbin, announcing that her husband was transferred to Imam Reza Hospital in Mashhad in a semi-conscious state, has declared the "Ministry of Intelligence" and the "criminal rulers" responsible for anything that happens to her husband.
Hengameh Vahedian, Abbas Vahedian's daughter, told the radio on Monday, March 29, that she was informed this morning by a hospital employee that her father, who was in a "low state of consciousness," had been discharged from the hospital.
The hospital officials have said that Mr. Vahedian will be transferred to prison, but Hengameh Vahedian says: "We don't believe this. My father has probably been returned to the intelligence detention center. His whereabouts are currently unknown."
Ms. Vahedian also reports on her pursuit to visit her father in the hospital, saying: "Last night I wanted to go, but the hospital security officer prevented us from visiting. He said he was a political prisoner and you are not allowed to visit. If he was a murderer, you could visit, but we do not allow political prisoners."
Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi is one of the signatories of the statement of 14 political and civil activists who, in June 2019, issued this statement calling for Ali Khamenei to step down from power and for the transition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Amnesty International Today On February 3 of this year, in a letter to the head of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the long-term imprisonment of Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi in solitary confinement, he called for the immediate and unconditional release of this political activist.
In Karaj Prison, civil activist Arsham (Mahmoud) Rezaei has gone on a hunger strike to protest the prison authorities' opposition to sending him on medical leave.
HRANA News Agency wrote, "This civil activist suffers from hiatal hernia, Helicobacter pylori (stomach infection), and duodenal ulcer and requires medical attention."
Arsham Rezaei was sentenced to five years in prison in March 2018 on charges of "propaganda against the system, gathering and collusion with the intention of acting against national security and insulting the leadership."
Previously, on Thursday, March 25, in Kermanshah, political prisoner Soheila Hijab was transferred from the women's ward of the city's prison to the hospital due to her deteriorating condition.
Soheila Hijab was sentenced to five years in prison in March 2019 by a court of law on charges of "propaganda against the system, gathering and collusion, inciting public discontent with the intention of causing chaos, and forming an illegal group."
No report has been released on Soheila Hijab's health condition after she was transferred to the hospital.
